Serpent power
From the Mooladhara chakra arises the serpent power which is the combination of surya &
Chandra nadi viz Pingala & Ida which criss cross themselves at every epicenter or astral point i.e. chakra. To open up these chakra i.e.
Kundalini jagran the zig zag movement is encouraged which is a symbolic of the movement of a snake which
in spite of covering 3 times more distance then a man can reach to a particular point faster than a man.
During meditation each chakra is visualized as a lotus with certain number of petals. They may be
focused upon by chanting OM at lowest pitch contemplating as
Mooladhara and subsequent raise the pitch as you go step up to the next chakra.
By such contemplation Kundalini or serpent power is aroused and starts it journey from the place of
origin i.e. Mooladhara where it lies dormant to the Sahsarar. It is also called the union of Shiva & Shakti, where Shakti reside on
Mooladhara and Shiva resides in
Sahsarar, the Kundalini rises piercing all the chakras though the main central channel.
Accordingly to yogic theory there are approximately 72,000 nadi or astral tubes or channels. The most important of which is the sushmana. On either side of the Ida (moon channel/Chandra nadi) and
Pingala (sun channel/ surya nadi) which work in alternate to maintain the temperature of the body. There are also corresponding to 3 great rivers of
India -Ganges (Ida), Yamuna (Pingala) and Saraswati (Sushmana) and
the meeting point of these is called Triveni i.e. the Ajna chakra (chakra of
Ida, Pingala & Sushmana).
