TYPE OF MANTRAS ON THE BASIS OF QUALITY

On the basis of QUALITY mantras are of three types:

a) Sattvic Mantras

Sattvic Mantras are the ones which are used for spiritual up lifting, Kundalini awakening, benefit of the universe, awakening the power of God or Goddess, wisdom, compassion, illumination and peace.

b) Rajasic Mantras

Rajasic Mantras are the ones which are used for material gains like health, wealth, prosperity, harmony, success, to conceive, excelling in education etc.

c) Tamasic Mantras

Tamasic Mantras are the ones which are used to get things done in personal interest which maybe harmful to others; they are mostly performed by selfish people with negative attitude. They generally invoke lower forces. Some examples of these are voodoo, black magic, witch craft etc.

Each Mantra is a combination of sound formed from 50 letters of the Sanskrit alphabets.
